It can be very fascinating sometimes to view some of the non-orb ghost spirit photo pictures. While many of the spiritual apparitions that seem to take place are often clearly photography anomalies or tricks, there are those rare photos that come along and really make you stop and think. Assuming these aren’t faked, they are fairly impressive indications that something very odd is present in our world that we’ve yet to identify.

If you’re considering getting into the field of ghost hunting, please make a concerted effort to fully research the equipment that you’ll be bringing along and understand exactly what it is that you’re measuring. All too often I’ve watched members of some of the television ghost hunting teams walk around a house with an EMF “ghost meter” and get excited because they pick up an elevated EMF reading near a high power outlet or circuit box. The absolute tragedy of the field of ghost hunting is the fact that so many untrained and unprofessional researchers are getting involved.

With that said, the last thing I want to do is discourage anyone from conducting field research of paranormal hot spots. However, for your research to be very effective, and if you hope to learn anything from the experience, it’s absolutely critical that you bring along the right equipment, enough equipment, and understand how that equipment works.

Get the Right Ghost Hunting Equipment for Effective Field Research

The entire purpose of traveling on-site to a paranormal hot spot is two-fold for the scientist. On the one hand, you do want to capture conclusive evidence that something unexplainable and paranormal is really taking place at that location. However, in addition to collecting evidence, the second goal should be to take as many ambient environmental, circumstantial and radiological readings as possible for comparison to other locations that don’t have any reports of paranormal events.

Early in 2009, I was tasked with writing an article on the most haunted State in the U.S. for LoveToKnow Paranormal. I must say that it was one of the more difficult articles I’ve written because I couldn’t get myself to call any location the most haunted without some kind of evidence to prove it.

So, I diligently went to work digging through Internet stories of paranormal hot-spots, and started marking up a map of the United States and marked up each area with a number for the general volume of stories I could find for that region. It was a very rough way to do such an estimate, because it assumes that the population for all areas have equal Internet access, and that the people there are just as likely to report haunted activity as any other. This probably isn’t very accurate, but it’s the best I could do.

The Epicenter of Paranormal Hot Spots

The process took some time, but I did notice that there appears to be a very “hot” paranormal region of the country that is also almost at the very center of the nation. The hottest areas included Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and Michigan - Michigan being one of the most active regions in the entire country. I did notice that this entire area was centered around Ohio.

The field of the paranormal can catch many skeptics off guard. When you walk into a house expecting that you’ll be able to easily debunk everything that happens, and then the next thing you know there are objects flying around, doors opening on their own and voices coming out of thin air - an entire worldview can get turned upside down. Unless you’re completely prepared for what you’re going to face when you enter a haunted location, you’re asking for trouble.

One of the most common aspects of ancient spiritual beliefs is symbolism. Most ancient religions (as well as contemporary ones) are filled with countless examples of powerful symbolism. The symbolic power is not necessarily of a spiritual nature (although many do believe that it is), the power of these symbols also come from what they represent for people. Some also believe that the power comes from what they represent to the “entities” as well.

It is difficult to examine paranormal phenomenon without entering into a discussion of energy oneness which in some way involves the latest theories of quantum physics that cover the “Theory of Everything.” Einstein spent the last part of his life searching for a Unified Field Theory which all forces between particles could be described with a single field - in essence the one “force” that connects us all.

The concept of a unifying field is one that many people fascinated with New Age concepts are very excited about. The discovery of such a field that forms this “Energy Oneness” would be proof that we are all “one.” Electricity, magnetism and gravity could all be explained with a single force in which no rules are broken and yet all “things” are connected regardless of distance. Einstein’s Theory of Relativity unified electricity and magnetism with his concept of spacetime (the unity of space and time). It was only in 1831 that Faraday discovered a magnetic field could induce an electric current - and the two fields were united.

In the course of studying paranormal phenomenon, I’ve found that the best sources for articles on paranormal technology or science are not free online articles, but books and research articles published in scientific journals. Most people who dedicate all of their time to “Google” research actually miss out on an entire world of some of the most revealing and shocking scientific research related to the paranormal. Yet, much of that research goes unnoticed by so many paranormal researchers.

To correct this problem, I’d like to take some time to provide some of the most informative and important articles on paranormal technology or science. These are articles published in various science journals, and also books published by established scientists in their respective fields.

If you stop and think about the nature of the activity that takes place at a typical paranormal hot-spot, it’s a bit disconcerting how much some of the events seem to display effects of some form of energy. The described visual, auditory and sometimes even olfactory effects hint at a particular energy field having some effect on the victim’s brain. However, this hypothesis seems to fit only until you take other characteristics of hauntings into account. Let’s take a look.

I am always on the lookout for captured paranormal events, and every now and then I post scary ghosts videos to this blog. The videos are not all of visible ghosts, but may show only the effects of ghosts such as EVP’s (electronic ghost phenomenon) or moving objects. They are not scary in the “horror movie” sense of the word, but because they fly in the face of what people have generally come to accept as our “reality.”

In the comfortable world view where people consider themselves “sane,” object don’t move, semi-visible entities don’t appear, and disembodied voices don’t make statements in the middle of an empty room. However the following three videos provide a little bit of evidence to the contrary. I am very picky about the videos that I choose.

One of the things that I look forward to the most is taking a vacation to visit some of the top scary places to visit in the world. Of course, it’s most likely that I’ll track down a local haunt that we can stay at overnight, it’s always possible that we may save up enough to travel somewhere like Scotland or England and visit some of the more ancient sites that are allegedly haunted as well. I’ve been a paranormal researcher for almost a decade now, and one thing I’ve noticed is that a certain number of locations constantly turn up as the most haunted of any in the world.

One of the most common practical computer-related practical jokes people like to play are scary pop up illusions. These are also the most common forms of spoof ghost videos as well - you can find those pop up videos scattered all throughout YouTube any time you try searching for “real” haunted videos. They’re a nuisance, but they’re also wildly popular. Scary pop up illusions are a beast of a slightly different variety. These are actually photos that represent scary optical illusions, not videos. Spoof ghost videos usually open on a calm scene and then, when you least expect it, splash a very scary image and/or sound across the screen.

Scary optical illusions, on the other hand, usually either present the viewer with an illusion that they need to stare at closely to “see” the hidden image (until the viewer is shocked by a sudden scary pop up image) or they simply present an illusion with spooky images integrated throughout.
